The final decision as to the sending of < delegation to Washington in this morch is to be made at 2 regular meeting November 24, and the group will probably leave November 27 and 30. Reports from Pittsburgh dated November 21, 1932, indicate that preparations are being made for the hunger march to Washington, s committee being engag:d in collecting food dnd cash end securing halls for the delegates to cleep in going and returning from Washington. A delegation has been organized, to waich members are still being added, but the numbers are not given. Reports from Kansas City dated Nov that a contingent of fifty hunger mzrchers wa: nes, Iowa, that afternoon. It was further stated that hunger archers routed through Kan: City were expected to arrive November 26, and would continue the morning of November 27, augmented by the Kansas City contingent. The Unemployed Councils of the United States of fmerica, 799 Brozdway, New York Cily, New York, addressed a letter to the Mayor of a8 City over the signature of O. W. Penny as Secretary of the local council. In this letter he stated in sub: nce that the western deleg unemployed, sporoximating tro or three hundred men, ¥ to arrive in Kansas City from California and points vest ¢ City on November 26, where they would be joined by the Kans group and leave for Vashington on November 27. This letter requested that the mayor provide accommodations for the marchers. These reports also indicate that a similar letter was written to the jiayor of Des Moines, Iowa, request housing, feedinz, and a permit to seek funds, this reauest being denied by the ™ rand the City Council, who threatened to "run them out of town in the event any disturbance is created".
