ME;ORANDUM FOR THE DIRECTOR Supplementing my memorandum of the @3rd instant in connection with the investigation of the activities of persons interested in the marceting of juice grapes, I desire to advise that lr. Donald Conn's secretery called this office yesterday and gave Mr. Conn's reservation on tle Liberty Limited train to Chicago, leaving Washington yesterday afternoon, as previously ar- ranged. When the reservation was checked with the reilroad, it was found that both the car mumber and time of departure were wrong, consequently, Mr. Conn was again called at the Carlton Hotel ani his secretary when advised of the erroneous information, corrected the same and stated that Mr. Conn was leaving Washington yesterday at 3:25 on Train #59, Pennsylvania Railroad, known_as the Liberty Limited, occupying drawing room "A" in Car #16. On recei-t of this information the Chicago office was advised by telephone to have Special Agents Butterworth and Miller board this train at Gary,Ind. this morning, it being due to arrive there at 8:16, to contact Mr. \. Conn and proceed with him to Chicago and to met Mr. Mark ‘Adanson who kr. \ Conn states can give details with regard to the general allegations previously made by him, Mr. Conn. _S In talking with Chicago, Acting Arent in Charge Fay aivised that Mr. Irrgang had called his office yesterday end had sugzested that Mr. Charles Smith of the DeJurie Fruit Dealers at Chicago waw could give additional in- formation.
