I presume they just committed a job jumpea over high barbed wire fence up back stairs thinking the flat was vacant,changed their shérts in downsteire hell,walked around blook to their oar in alley and left. This ie the most noforious locality (I think in the world) There are no police on the beat. Squad oar drives once in ewhile. The police probably know who the boys are but they bave no warrants and folks are afraiac to identify them. They sbouic te picked up as vagrenta and hela in jail. Most of thir families are on relief. Thies is the neighborhood which is soon to be reared but until that time -this neighborhood shhuld get special protecticn,eapecially those who are not Italians, . at the time the store was held upenei;hbors knew of it and were standing in front of the store but sone would oall police and as the owner came in the robbers started for dooreshe grabbed one of them and they dragged ber on sidewalk while she held on~and threw her hard to ground-yet' not one cf them standing there would even help her up-she ie neither youre or very atrong.
