PERSONAL 2 per Barna Federal Bureau of Investigation : 900 Security Building Los Angeles, California Re: BENJAMIN "BUGS" SIEGEL MISCELLANEOUS; INFORMATION CONCERN ING; CRIME SURVEY Dear Sirs Reference is mde to your letter of August 9, 1946, requesting information concerning the divorce reportedly obtained by ESTEER SIEGEL from BENJAMIN SIEGEL at Reno, Nevada. The divorce records of the Washoe Cou: Cc *s 0: e, Reno, br under #105261, as made availablel reflect the following information: On August 3, 194 STELLE L. SIEGEL was granted a divorce from BENJAMIN SIEGEL. The complaint recited that they were married in New York City, New York, on Jan mi! oh issu The complaint also recite: % a property settle- ment had been agreed upon per a contract made June 20, 1946, and the plaintiff bie offered this as exhibit "A" in the proceedings, and asked that the terms thereof be adopted in the divorce decree. The compkint alleged that the defendant had been guilty of extreme cruelty, mental in nature, ami the prayer of the complaint was that an absolute divorce be granted, with the custody of the children given to the plaintiff, but with a right of visita- tion by the defendant "at all reasonable and seasonable times.” Mre. SIEGEL was represented by DONNELL RICHARDS, a Reno attorney. The file contained an “Appearance and Waiver" signed by BENJAMIN SIEGEL and acknowledged at Los Angeles, California, duly 2, 1946, before ANNA TAYLOR, Notary Public, in which he in effeot consented to a default decree, The decree granted an absolute divorce, gave the custody of the children to the mother, with a right of visitation as set out in the complaints The property agreement was approved and fully adopted by the courte ¢
