Your letter of October 15th has been received.
The FBI does not have any publications available
for distribution conceraing Al Capone; however, you may wish-
to refer to “The FBI Story, " a book Don Whitehead,
which contains some data relative to him. You will probably be
able to obtain a copy of it at your loca) library.
- For your information, Capone was sentenced on
October 24, 1931, for violation of the Federal income taz laws
which do not come within the investigative jurisdiction of the FBL
He was released from the Federal Correctional Institution,
Terminal Island,-Califormia, on January 19, 1939, and died on
damary 25, 1047, at Palm Island, Miami, Florida.
Enclosed is some literature which I hope you will
find of interest. 2
