This investigation disclosed that between Janunry 13 and March 5, 1929, Capone hed freqmently attended the reces at the Miami Jockey Club, The Hialesh Race Track, Florida, and had freguently appeared in putlic in apparently good heslth during the time when the effidavit alleged he wes in bed. The investigation revealed further that between January 135 and March 5, 1929, Capone, in addition to having attended the rnces regularly, hed made a trip by boat and another trip by aeroplene from Miami, Florida, to the Bahama Islaids and return. Special arernts of the United States Bureau of Investigetion obtained affidavits from five police officiels and an employee at the race track to the effect that Capone had attended the races on a number of occasions betweer January 13 end larch 5, 19, at which times he had eppeared to be in good health. A pilot for a flying service at Miami, Floride, made affidavit that on February 2, 192, he had piloted a certain see plene from Miami, Florida, ‘to Bimini, Behama Islands, British West Indies, and return, carrying as passengers Al Capone ani three other individuals, end that Capone appeared to be in good health during the entire trip. An affidavit was obtained from an officiel of a steamship line operating between Miami, Florida, end Nassau, Rahama Islands, British West Indies, stating that on February 8, 1929, while checking the passenger lists of one of his company's vessels, he persmeally observed Alphonse Capone, together with Alfred Capone end severel other individusls on the deck of one of the company’s boats as it departed for the Bahamas, \T>
