These shells were bx obtained fr the District attorney's f- Office in Los angeles, who previously received them from the Beverly Hills Police Department. No specific request has been made of the Laboratory rela- tive to what comparison is desired at this time. It is felt, however, that all carbine guns coming to the attention of the Bureau Offices — in hoodlum centers in the United States should be forwarded to the H laboratory and appropriate examinations conducted in an effort to locate the Killer's gun. It is suggested, therefore, that New York, Chicago, Detroit, Miami, Salt Lake City, Phoenix and San Francisco = be alerted to recover carbines for the purpose of the above examina- Ket tion.
