The trooper recognizec Ur. Burgess! immnity and allowed him to continue along with the requeet that he stay within the speed limit. : - "Wnen we got about § miles Korth of Ashland we were passing an Army Convoy and were stopped by another Virginia State ‘Trooper and he advised that he hed checked us at 80 mph. Again Mr. Burgess' imiunity was recognized and we were aliowed to proceed with & warning to stay within the speed limit. & "We stopped at Ashland and had a Coco-cola and he requested me to drive. I did, anc we proceeded South through Petersburg on Route 301. When we were about 10 miles South of Petersburg we were etoppeS by County Officer of the Prince Georges gounty police, and being the driver I was charged with speeding (@ 0 mphe 41) during the time Mr. Burgess kept on telling m to step on it. On several occasions I told hin we were going too fast and if we were caught I would have to take the consequences. He told we each time tnat he would take the responsibility and he had diplonstic immunity, and all the police would do would be to atk me #) te slow it dow, and we would go on our waye ( "YT am making this trip with Mr. Burgess at his expense. I have been knowing him @ long time, severd years in fact, and I drive and tow motor cars for Gilbert's Motor Sales, Patterson, New Jersey.
