Double Agent
There were indications that|
Philby, a dark-haired, dashing-
ly handsome man who once,
served as first secretary at
the British Embassy in Wash-
ington, was apparently a dou-
ble agent, spying for bath

Philby was first secretary
of the British Embassy in
Washington from October 1949
until June 1951, returning to

and Maclean fled to Russia,

ent in Beirut, Lebanon, one
