MENTION OF THE FBI There are numerous references to the FBI in this book in connection with the official investigation conducted by the Bureau in this country, and none of the references are derogatory. OBSERVATIONS This book is a factual account of the life of Philby and represents a good documentary of the times during which Philby was active. Seale has done a great deal of research in the preparation of this book and also has the advantage of having worked with Philby as a fellow reporter during several years in Lebanon. He also had the advantage of having worked with the late Eleanor Philby in the preparation of her book which gave him an insight into the type of life which Philby lead during his marriage to Eleanor Philby.
