According to GOODMAN, PURGESS asked him to take a message to a friend, wno BURGESS identified as being connected with the Stock Exchange in New York City. GOODMAN stated that the message, which he claimed to have written down in the darkened theatre on a slip of paper was, “I am still wearing my old Etonian tic and. nope he 1s still wearing the bow tle Igave him." GOODMAN said that BURGESS explained he could not write to because 1t would result in MM being harrassed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, (& GOODMAN pointed out that the information regarding the message for SMR had not been mentioned ty him. fo any individual other tnan the interviewing Bureau ~ Agents. In this connection, GOODMAN stated thatppun returaing to New York, he ascertained that «ag was employed by the stock broxerage firm tages. Mr. GOODMAN said thet he ascertained that was on vacation in Wycning, “and he,therefore,was unadle to “a the message to GOODMAN recalled that,during his conversation with BURGESS, BURGESS had reminisced with seemingly pleasant memories of his life in the United States and had made particular reference to the pleasant times which he had had at the Meadow- brook Club and the Rackets Club in New York.
