This anonymous communtcation purports to gtve infor- mation to the Cardinal to the effect that tn 2955 a book will t1¢ be published at Gtrard, Xansas, vilifying the Ca as the Church generally. The Cardinal requeate discuss this matter with SAC Kelly. The Bu u's help requested to deteraine: Q) whether in fact such a book ta contemplated; (2) the name of the author; (3) whatever infor- mation the Bureau can provide to the Cardinal's office regarding the author of the book, the thought in mind being that, upon publicdtion of thie book, should the author have a Communist or unsavory background, this tnformatton could be placed where it would do the most good tn explaining the author’a motives.
