Teen ee ener tose ID BUENO The May 13, 1948 issve of the "New York World Telegram" cerried an article urder the caption, "Polo Grounds Rally on Palestine Labeled Red Front" with a subheading of "Einstein,™ Sen. Thomas Urged to “lithdraw by Schultz Group." This article stated that a pro-Felestine rally which was to be held at the Polo Grounds the following Saturday night, featuring Senator Elbert D. Thomas (Dem., Utah) as a speaker and Pr. Albert Einstein as sponsor, was branded a Communist front on that day by the American Jewish League against Communism. The rally, according to the article, was prometed by the seil-styted American Commtttee of Jewish Vriters, Artists and Selentists «> "Enterprise of the Commminist Var desirred to capitalize on the legitimate yearnings of most js erteen ¢ for a homejand fcr their disinherited brethern of Bnrore." The article further stated that both Senator Thomas and Dr. Binstein were urged by the Jeague to disessocist . themselves from the rally, as were two other featured speakers.
