in the May, 1949 issue of "The German American", New
Yotk appeared an article on pase 12 entitled, “artists end ;
Intellectuals in Favor of Peace." It reported that from March
25, to 27th a Conference for World Peace was held in Mew York
which was called hy the "National Council of Arts, Sciences,
and Professions." Sponsors of the conference were important
artists, writers, and scientists. Albert Einstein's nsme
appeared on the list of sponsors. According to the article
the conference was 9 great success and helped the cause of
peace to a vast extent throughout the world. It further stated
thet foreign delegates from the Soviet Union, C7echcslovakia,
Romania, Yugoslavia, Poland, and other countries vere to spesl.
