Concerning the arrest of October 8,
1934, of eubject GAMBINO by the New York City
Police Devartment, the complaint against GAMBINO
was dismissed by United States Commissioner COTTER
Decemoer 14, 1934, on motion of United States
Attorney NAGER. ‘The file contained a letter from
United States Attorney MARTIN CANBEY, Southern
District of New York, stating that the case of
GAMBINO regarding the arrest of October 8, 1934,
had been presented to tie Federal Grand Jury

and the Grand Jury returned a "Not true bil" to
an indictment charging GAMBINO with violations

EVEREIT STPAPP, Assistant Chief
Investigator, Imnisrcevion Naturalization Service,
New York City, advised SA on December 6,
1957, that CARLO GAMBINO was arrested on June lj,
1937, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for violation of
Internal Revenue Laws and on May 23, 1939, he was
sentenced to 22 months at the Federal Penitentiary,
Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
