No threats or promises have been made to induce
me to furnish this statement. I am aware that I
may seek the advice of an attorney. I know that
I need not furnish any statement and, if I do,
same can be used against me in a court of law.
"I was previously interviewed as to the escape
from Alcatraz Penitentiary by inmates JOHN and
CLARENCE ANGLIN and FRANK MORRIS. At that time
I was emotionally distrubed and I do not recall
what I said. I believe I gave a plausible story
at the time for the benefit of the prison
official who was present as I was in fear of
repercussion from the prison officials as to the
escape.
