GAROFALO gave his occupation as a partner in the firm of M & G Coat Company, 178 McKibbins Street, Brooklim, New York. GAROFALO purchased a .32 caliber Smith & Wesson, Scrial 445564, on Septcmber 20, 1940, from FRANK LAVA, 6 Centre Street, New York City. GAROFALO stated that he needed the revolver for protection in carrying large sums of money for payrolls.
