that an affidavit had been received from one Donald J.
Ferraro of Lake Mahopac, New York, who stated that one
Irving Ellis of Montreal had raised Galante's case at a

Ferraro said he went to the Republican leader in his
district, a Mr, D, Mallory Stephens, end asked him if he
could do anything. It was also reported that Stephens
referred Galante's case to Assemblyman George L. Ingalla
of Binghamton, New York, and that Ingalls, when he learned
