Xxplanations both of the services rendered by these camps and of the serious financial assis- tance needed appears on the enclosed page. If further information ia desired, we shall gladly furnish it at your request. As you may know, nore than 22 of these camps are now administered nationally by the service comnittces of tho Friends (Quakers), Brethren and Menyonites, who necessarily will bear the ultimato costs of all campers who have neither indopendent rescurces nor supnort from church or community. Since there are many such campers, evon from Northern Galifornia, those of us who have not beon drafted feol that it is our “ Pesponsidility to assume a fair ehare of those expenses. Perhaps you will want to recomnoné to your ow group—whethor it be a church, a young neoplo's league, or a committee interested in civil - and religious livertice--‘that a monthly pledge be mado toward support of — the camps.
