PHILADELPHIA CHAPTER, FAIR PLAY FOR CUBA CORITTET A source advised on April 3, 1961 that the Philadelphia Chapter, Fair Play for Cuba Committee (FPCC), was formed on February 5, 1961 and is a branch of the nation 1 organization of the Fair Play For Cuba Committees The main purpose in organizing the FPCC wes to rally public opinion in the United States against any effort to overthrow Fidel Castro. The Philadelphia Chapter menbership consists of elenents of socialist- type groups, such as the Socialist Workers Party (SWF), but no one faction dominates the operation of this organization. A second source advised on May 28, 1962 tht the Philadelphia Chapter, FPCC, has been relatively inactive since disaissal of charges against four FPCC picketers arrested in April, 1961. Activities ar: 1:~fined to small gatherings in private homes, and there have been no recent lary. xenbership meetings. . On May 10, 1963 the second source reported thet due to lack of funds, the Philadelphia Chapter, FPCC, has fallen into complete inactivity.
