UNITIO STATES DNISRVENTION IN_VIETAM “Te Bethlehem Globe Times," Bethlehem, Pa., page one, on April 9, 1965, carried an article captioned, "47 Area Professors Blast U.S, on Viet," which stated, "A letter blasting United States actions in the war in South Viet Nam has been sent to President Lynden B. Johnson by 47 faculty members of the Lehigh University's and Lafayette and Muhlenberg colleges! faculties. Calling American intervention 'illegal,' 'immoral,' ‘unhumane,' and a possible cause of 'a major conflagration on the continent of Asia and‘of nuclear war,?'.....° advised y that representatives of the Womens International Leaguefor Peace and Freedom (WILPF) would distribute leaflets in downtown Easton, Pa., protesting the war in Vietnam..
