He stated that several _ wires have been received protesting this meeting in Dallas ana tha he was checking with us to see whether there was anything wrong with the organization, I advised Smgme thot Departmental regulations provided the files of the Bureau were confidential and that information could be given outside of the Erecutive Broack of the Government only through the Attorney General. @ay_peuentes stated that he should have known this but that he haa forgotten th the FBI was under the Attorney General. He immediately stated thea _he would noke tnguiry of ‘the Department regarding the mattere I suggested to (umeaAielipeass thot he might desire to consult the pamphlet that was put out by the House Comnrittee on Un-America Activities which listed all citations of subversive orgentzctions.
