INFORMATIVE NOTE eis ° 7/1/85 STAR CHAMBER — FIVE STAR; Re: RICO; 00: NEW YORK By way of background, on 2/25/85 the Federal grand jury (FGJ), Southern District’ of New York (SDNY) returned a 15-count indictment charging 4 LCN bosses, 1 acting boss, 2 underbosses, 1 consiglieri, and 1 member as participating in the “LCN Commission.” . By teletype dated 6/27/85, the NYO advised that on 6/25/85, the FGJ, SDNY returned a_superseding indictment charging extortion, labor bribery, and ECT against Anthony Salerno, boss, Genovese Family; Paul Castellano, boss, Gambino Family; Aniello Dellacroce, underboss Gambino Family; Fenily: Phillip Rastelli, boss, Bonanno Fami Scopo, soldier, Colombo Family. All the aforementioned individuals were previously indicted on 2/25/85 and these charges are in addition to those in the previous indictment. The FGJ also indicted several individuals not named in the February indictment. Both Carmine Persico, boss, Colombo Fam: » and Stefano Cannone, consigliere, Bonanno Family, were named as participating in the activities of the “Commission.” Persico was also charged with conducting a multimillion dollar extortion scheme in connection with the concrete industry as well as charged with various labor violations.
