Teneyck says jis deputies are acting impartially in trying to prevent violence during United Farm Workers organizing efforts at West Texas melon farms. investigation of alleged illegal actions against farm workers trying to unionize at Pecos, Tex. Mrs, Robles headed a” District 4 LULAC com- mittee that went to Pecos last week to study the Situation. She conferred swith the national president Manual Gonzalez of Wac .who asked Bonilla to lool into the matter as ‘member of the national advisor’s legal staff. BONILLA'S sister, Mary Helen Bonilla, is legal! advisor to LULAC but was’. busy with another case. He represents her in the Pecos + matter. Originally the District 4 committee hoped that Bonilla would be able to visit Pecos personally this week, He had court obligations and told Mrs. Robles he would keep in touch to see whether he might get to Pecos in a few days. — LULAC District 4 Director Ralph Murillo said last week, in demanding an investigation into arrest of United Farm Workers organizers at Pecos, there were several apparent violations of law. He cit the arrest of children and placing them in facilities! with adults, refusal of the Reeves County sheriff to accept bond from a recognized bondsman, and quesiions about ine charge of trespassing as examples of possible illegalities- 5* qr rom
