It is not a committee of any Yearly Neeting or all Yearly Meetings. It is only one of the channels through which Priendst concerns are exoressed. lt seeks to be alert to. the concerns of Meetings es well as individuals, but it does net vresume to be en orgen of such Meetings. It should make clear and vublic pronouncements that it speaks only for itself." 5 CO, 1/31/55) Concerning the above-noted item, [73 advised that the reason for the ebove statement is duc to the fact that some disscnsicn seems to heve arisen among various Yearly Nectings concerning the (FSC. A number of the Yearly Meetings feel that the generel public regards the “FSC as one of the official orgens of the religious Society of Friends and the ections of AFSC as ections of all Friends. The informant stated that this.is not the fact and that ‘the /FSC does not speak for all Yearly Meetings, but, in fact, each Yeerly Meeting sveaks for itsclf. fecording to the informant, the AFSC wishes, through the above steteuent, to make it clear, that it is not acting on behalf of all the Yearly Meetings end, in fact, eny Yearly Meeting, and thet its policies and actions are entirely its own. —!
