URKNOWS SUBJECT; SERGEANT OF KERN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE, BAKL:SFIELD, CALIFORNIA, AUGUST 1, 1973, Ok AUGUST 2, 1973; UNITED FARM WORKERS UNION, LANONT, CALIFORNIA “On either 8/1/73 or 8/2/73, I was present on a picket line consisting of 70 - 80 members of the United Farm Workers Union (UFW) on Wheeler Ridge Rd., about 200 feet south of David Rd, in the Lamont a Kovacovich Ranch this ranch, S was at about 1000 aM. A ranch truck was parked in a road leeding into the grape vineyards facing & extending onto the shoulder of Wheeler Ridge Rd. "I heard a thud which sounded like a rock hitting the side .of the ranch truck. I did not see any objects of any kind coming from the direction of the picket lines, Then a member of UFW, an unrecalled woman, ceme around the front of this truck & told me she had seen > toss the rock, I (HX went to the other side of this truck with this woman & talked to a Kern County Sheriff's Office Sgt. & told him that the rock had been thrown by Both the (WX* woman & myself request the Sgt. to arrest . but he refused.
