Investigation instituted 3/27/74 revealed that DUCOTE, using name FRED SCHWARTZ, contacted attorney for United Farn Kerkers (UY) and offered to sell documents obtained in burgla- ries frow UFW office for $25,000. DUCCTE was to furnish evidence linking burglaries to numerous California Crovers. Upon corpletion of our investization, the USDJ acvised that no Federal Violation existed, and that information should be wade available to appropriate local authorities. Ovr investication to date does not indicate there is any substance to the allecation, however, this investigation is still pending. Mr. Parker was advised on 1/6/76 that there is a pending investigation concerning DUCOTE, and that a briefing concerning, the details of the investigation is not possible at this time. Mr. Parker advised that a formel letter would be directed to the Bureau posing certain questiens concerning this matter. He further advised that he was forwarding to the Office of Conpressional Affairs, newspaper articles and a %3-page statement allegedly given by DUCOTE to State authorities.
