Shubb, Sacramento, California, advised that he had tel cally discussed matter with informed hin t their position in this matter was that the civil rights of sheriff's personnel and the Sheriff's Office were being violated by the pickets due to the intimidation of sheriff's personnel by the Mexican-American tomato picker pickets, thereby requiring law enforcement assign- ment to the picket sites beyond normal strength and thereby depriving other citizens of equal protection of law by virtue of the fact that they are not Mexican-Americans. AUSA Shubb stated he advice that his com- plaint was considered unique and informed him that a Departmental decision as to the merits of the complaint would be in order and suggested QM may desire to confer with Assistant Attorney General J. Stanley Pottinger, U. S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division.
