a won April cz, 1966, a source advised he had received
information to the effect that officials and associates
of the National Farm Workers Association (NFWA) in the
future were planning ways to discredit law mforceaent
agencies in localities effected by the farm labor;strike.
In the past NFWA has prepared publicity in advance of marches
and large picket lines,with a view toward being arrested for
offenses such as not having a parade permit or trespassing
on private property. This source expects that NPWA will very
shortly attempt to file civil rights complaints with the
U.S. Department of Justice and state authorities, Source
predtcvedi that violations of law-would be planned by NFWA,
and carried through, with a view toward causing situations
with law enforcement agencies which could be ciyigted into
civil rights matter at a later date.
An article appearing in the April 22, °1966 issue
of the "Los Angeles Times", a dajly newspaper published in
Los Angeles, California, reveal that on the previas
Wednesday, NFWA Director Cesa vez and his aides met
secretly with Vice President of the Di Giorgio Corporation
Bruce W»Sanborn, Jr. in Fresno in an effort to work out
differences over & company proposal to have an election
to determine if the farm workers wanted to be represented
by the union, This article went on to state as follows:
