pickets led by Genaro Lara, a representative of 6 Natio
Farm Workers' Association (NFWA), 1300 South Wabash, Chicago,
picketed Zimmermann's Cut-Rate Liquor Store, Incorporated,
240 West Randolph, protesting the store's sale of wine dis-
tributed by the California Wine Association (CWA), Delano,
California.
Lara (records of the Chicago Office contain no infor-~
mation identifiable with Lara) requested the store manager to
sign s petition agreeing to no longer purchase wines from CWA.
The manager refused.
The pickets carried signs:such as "Farm Workers'
denied bargaining rights" and "Farm Workers' made to unionize."
The demonstration commenced at approximately 10 a.m. on
December 17, 1966, and ended at 3 p.m. The demonstration was
peaceful and no arrests were made.
The following individuals were advised on December 17,
1966, of the above:
Mr. N. M. Karzen, Assistant United States Attorney;
U.S. Secret Service, both at Chicago; and Gy
113th MI Group, at Evanston.
