Ailee had begun witndrawing Texas Rangers from Starr County since, in his judgment, things had quieted down enough to do this- The same newspaper carries a second article on its front page captioned, “Attorney General Asked to Send Federal Marshals to Valley," which stated tnat Domingo Arredondo, President of the Rio Grande City Chapter of the United Farm Workers Organizing Conmittee (UFWOC) had, on tne previous day, directed a telegram to U- S.
