Donahoe and you on July 7, 1967, forwarded herewith is @ memorandum containing informaition relating to activities in connection with the strike of farm workers in the Rio Grande City, Texas, area which may be of interest. ler Are ey While no active investigation has been requested by the Department of Justice in connection with the strike situation under the Anti-Racketeering Statute, the Department and other agencies have been kept apprised of information of interest to them on a current basis relative to developments obtained by this Bureau from sources and news media. In addition, this Bureau has conducted several civil rights investigations based on allegations of mistreatment as well as other deprivations of civil rights allegedly suffered by striking farm workers at the hands of law enforcement officers. The results of such investigations have been furnished to the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice.
