Dear Sir:
On May 25, 1941, MARVIN > of Abilene, Texas,
furnished this Office with information hereinafter set forth.
RUTHERFORD is a chemical engineer, an ex-service man of
Company 348 of San Antonio, Texas. It should be stated, in a
preliminary way, that clains patents 0:

(1934). RUTHERFORD also claims the invention of, although not the
patent for, the front end drive utilized by the now defunct Cord
Automobile Company of England, the gear driven airplane propeller,
and the bullet-proof or non-inflammable airplane gasoline tank..
Some of the patented items have gone into actual production, —

No return receipt was requested. The enyelope was addressed
"Colonel CHARLES A.{/LINDBERGH, c/o H. ARNOLD, Coumander-in-
Chief of the Air Corps, Washington, D. C™. At that time LINDBERGH
was chairman of thejNew Device Committees. RUTHERFORD bas in his
poasession photostats of the plans sent at that time. There were
just two photostatic copies of the plans made, and RUTHERFORD has ~
both of then. They were photostated by the Bluesrif pany
