A Michigan Senator had ear-marked funds for the “creation of a production contract for_Dimeport or Bio-port in Michigan. Bio-Port began production of aa in large quantities for its sole customer, the United States government. The United States also shares its vaccine with other countries. Bio-Port eventually amassed several FDA production quality violations (known as 483's) and in 1999 or 2000 Bio-Port's license was suspended and they were ordered to stop production of AVA.
