Screening of tryptamine compounds in animals and man for hallucino-
genic action.

Completion of the study of the use of riboflavin as a trace chemical
to prove the ingestion of medication in a clinical setting.

Further studies on the use of phenoxybenzamine and other adrenergic
blocking compounds as antidotes to LSD-25.

Further refinement
of the use of quantitative brain wave studies to
diagnose schizophrenia and to determine the action of hallucinogens.
5.
Selection of one or more of a series
of
stimulant diamines for chronic
toxicity studies in animals so that they can be tested in normal human
volunteers for possible stimulant action.
6.
A search in brain extracts of rabbits treated with Tofranil
(iinipra-
mine) to determine if any stimulant amine accumulates as a result of
degradation of the drug molecule in the body.
7.
Determination of the anti-cholinesterase and aminoxidase inhibitory
effect
of the stimulant diamines.
8.
Assay of acet>fcholine content
of various portions of the brain after
prolonged administration of deanol.
9.
Tire assay in man of an intravenous analgesic solution composed
of
morphine and choline or morphine and carnitine wherein the pharma-
cologically neutral quaternary compound prevents the engagement
of
peripheral receptors by the morphine.
