Father WILLIAM JAMES, Diocesan Confraternity Director, Assistant School Superintendent Mobile-Birmingham Diocese, was interv 24/63 at Mobile by ASAC THOMAS J. JORDAN and SA orn ‘ Father JAMES advised that he had been visiting in Birmingham, Alabama, his home, on 9/15/63 and was leaving Birmingham by automobile when he heard the explosion at the 16th Street Baptist Church. He proceeded to the church and spent approximately: 30 minutes there. He arrived at the church approximately seven or eight minutes after the bombing , occurred. He has no information concerning the persons who are responsible for this bombing and cannot suggest any person who might have such first hand information. Father JAMES wrote an article for the CATHOLIC WEE which is the official publication of the Diocese of .. Mo e-Birmingham, and which is published weekly.
