"The investigative activity of this Bureau in connection with bombings in Alabama has been strictly governed by the policy of the Department of Justice. As a consequence; ~ although other bombings and attempted bombings have occurred in the State of Alabama since the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1960, our investigative activity has, pursuant to Departmental policy, been confined to the six bombings previously listed. Our cases are continuing to receive the highest priority and I have sent an Assistant Director of this Bureau to Birmingham to insure that all possible steps to solve these cases are being taken. a
