April 29, 1968
Senator John Sperkean

Washington, D.C. 20510
Dear Senater Spariusa;
I feel that it fa time for the facts to be released about who boubed
the negro church in Birmingham several years ago, Buntley and Brinkley
Were quite free to blawe some white racist for setting of f the bomb which
killed several negro children. They mentioned thie on several broadcasts
on T.V.. The newspapers were libere] in their blame on some white persan,
Then the Federal Government sent former coach, Red Blake sad Kenneth
Royal, to Birmingham to see what information could be found, At that tike,
the news media indicated that they would remain in Birmingham wntil thay
discovered who set off the bomb. Actually they left cow within a few
days and I hewe newer seen or heard about whet they found. It seems that
scmeoue is afraid to let che public know the facts.
T think that all of che citizens of the U.S.A. should be {informed
about the details im the bombing and the government knows who {ts guilty.
The nema or names should be released, ‘hie should be the case whether the
bomb was placed by a white persom or 4 negre.
How about some action on your part to let all of as know whe was guilty.
Are the facta being held secret because of civil rights sovanents
>
Sincerely yours,
Eece~of Bee
