Dear Phils:
Several months ago, I expressed my very real concerns about the
leaks which have characterized the Department's investigation
of alleged corruption in the Congress commonly called ABSCAM.
In light of that conversation, I am interested in determining if
the Department has, in fact, conducted an internal investigation
; designed to uncover the source of those leaks and what action,
a if any, has been taken as a result of that investigation. 1
would appreciate it if you would supply me with any additional
information you might have relative to this subject.
Y am raising this issue not only because of my concern about
the issue but also because of information which I have had
presented to me which suggests that the source of these Jeaks is
known to at least some members of the press.
: Sincerely, RECEIVED
