Millis am Mr. Godding were in Wasiington for the purpose of discussing the juice grape mtter because Mark T. Adamson on Sep tember 19, asked Joseph PF. Scanlan, the representative of the Califarnia Fruit Growers Exchange in Chicago, while they were staniing in the lobby of the Produce Exchange Building, whether Irrgang, Godding ani Myjlls had socomplished anything by their visit to Washington, D.C. On September 20, 1930, Mr. Irrgang stated he was informed by Mr. Eal Pitt, the assistant tor. Scanian, that Mark T, Adamson mew that Messrs, Irrgang, Mills ani Godding had been in Washington, D. C., ani further stated that the appointment of these genthecen with Mr. Teague of the U. 8. Farm Loan Board at Washington, D. G. was made by Mr, Joseph F, Scanlan of Chicago, Tllincis, Mr. Irrgang stated that a September 21, 1930, Tony Romano tal ked with Perry Stern, the assistant of Mr. Irrgang, at the Clinton Street yard of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, ani that Mr. Roman made the following remark: “Give my regards to Irrgang. He satuld have seen us before going to Washington and will regret it." Mr. Irrgang stated that Mr. Larry Archer of the Amerioan Fruit Growers, Inc., located in the Prodwe Exchange Building, Chicago,Illinois, hed informed him that Newberry of the 41 Capone geng had appointed Menny Schrieber to collect tribute in connectia with the juice graps racket this year as wis comiucted last year by Joe Ferrera on behalfof the a ee 46 li 1o}-MOran gang. Mr. Irrgang stated that tha fuloce grape oars are raceived in Chicago on the following tracks: First, Atcheson, Topeka & Santa Fe, Chicago, Illinois, 21st Street and Archer Aveme,. Second, Chicago anl Nortiwestern, Clinton Street near Kinzie Street, Chicago, Ill. Third, Chicago Produce Terminal, 27th & Ashland dAve., Chicago,j1l. Fourth, Bock Isiend. Tavlor Street to 16th, South Chicaro, Tilinsis, CUMS Fag ey Ae Re aS ER Ve TF RRS BS During 1929 five thousand cars of juice grapes were unlogied in Chicago, Illinois, and of this number eleven hundred cars wre wnioaied at the Chicago and Nortmestern track, thirtgen hundred and sixty cars at the Chicago Produce Terminal track and the remaining cars were aplit between the Rock Islam Railroad and the Atchison, Topeke and Santa Fe Railroad juice grape tracks.
