Unfortunately EADU vithdrey its official support from the convention a few days
before it besan. evertheless, a number of HADU supporters participated and ar least
ene KADU Leeco member addressed a plenary session.
Te is not essy to assess tie sipnifiesanee of such a conference in terms of the
validity ef the plans and ideas it produces, although even these may preve to be of
considcroble significance. but ua one enn doubt its being a clear demonstrcrion of
the ability ef people from various races, tribes and political parties to think and
work torether censtructively ou important national issues. Kenya needs mere of this
kind of activity and of the spirit which pervaded ir.
