On further oucestioning STOREN reluted thut he felt
BERENSON offered him a directorship in the company because
he, STOTEN, had been successful in getting the first tanker
ready for service in a short period of approximately three
weeks! time and because RERENSON desired to tie him, STOREN,
- STOREN advised that about two days after receiving
the above telephone call he went to ONaSSIS!' office, 52
Broadway, New York City to thank BuRENSON for making him a’
director of USPC, having first attempted to see BERENSON at
his own office. He stuted that on contucting BERENSON on
this occasion BunENSOH offerod to sell nin &> shares of USPC
g/ stock for ania, STORN said he was also very happy
5) about this and immediutely agreed to accept the stock at the
- agreed price inasmuch as he ; STOREN, felt the stock was worth
- more than per share, Ho said he felt that this gesture
on the part of .BaRENSO! was another way of expressing his
appreciution for the job he had done on the first tanker and
also was a manner of tying him to USPC for future services. In
fact, he stuted he felt BEReNSON was more or less giving the
stcck to him as it was his impression the shures of stock
would represent approximately 14 interest in seven T-2 tankers,
STOREN wus definite that the | price was sot
—-" Dy BsRENSON and advised he paid for the stock by his own
personal check peyuble to RsRENSON, which check was drawn on
vither the Pucific Nationa] Bank, San Francisco, California,
or the Chase National Runk, New York City. STOREN stated that
he could produce tha cuncolled chock in the event it becomes
1 at a lator date.
He stated that ho did not know who previously owned the
GRR suures of stock which he purchused but that he presumd
RERENSOW owned thom as the check in payment of the stock was
