Free breakfast for children program This program has been operated sporadically since September, 1971, at BPP Headquarters, 1333 North Patterson Street, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The program is operated under the direction of MARY MC DONALD and feeds an average of & to 10 children each day when operating. This program is used as a basis fer selictting donations from local merchants and achieving local support from the community. bh. Free pest control program Ducting January, 1972, the BPP chapter acqiiived 4 hand spray gin which is utilized for spraying houses im the neighborhood. Persons desiring their house to be sprayed for ;ests mist sign up at BPP Headquarters. This program has been administered by GRADY FULLER who bas conducted a door-to-door campaign soliciting business. c. Free clothing program This program was launched under the directicn of BPP ticutec BEATRICE FULTON and was scheduled for its fist distribution of free clothing on March 18, 1972. FULTON and GRADY FULLER have been centacting residents and merchants soliciting donations of new and used clothes. ?. Training Programs feriodic training sessions and educational classes are | held at BPP Headquarters on Wednesday evenings. These classes are open to prospective members as well as tepular members and class discussions are usually directed by one of the officers of the chapter. A liberation school for school-age children was undertaken on Saturday, March 4, 1972, in which free food was offered to enhance atkeudance. lack of food and poor attendance resulted in cancellation of this program.
