Ll. Solidarity Rally For High Poirt Four, High Foint,
Nocth Carolina, July 25, 1971
On July 24, 1971, an article appeared in the "High Point
Faterpr ice. Hieh Point, North Carolina, a daily vewcraper announcing
plans for a sulidarity rally for the High Point Four to be held
at 2 P.M., July 25, 1971, at Washington Terrace Park, High Point,
North Carelina. LARRY LITTLE is quoted as predict ing 2,000 -
persons would attend the High Point rally. Its purpese was to
gain moral avd financial support for the High Point Four identified
es LARRY MEDLEY, GEORGE DE WITT, RANDOLPH JENNINGS and BRADFORD
LULY, who were arrested February 10, 1971, at BPP H:adquaxters,
nee Holds Stroct, High Point, North Carolina, ALL fear were
acrashe J tcl Lowing a shoot out with police in which one officer was
sevicusly wounded.
The rally was held on July 25, 1971, with acprecximately
200 pecple in attendance. LARRY LITTLE. gave the welc*ming address
and .WULLUS CORNELL acted as master of ceremonies and introduced
COLDEN FRIRKS of the Southern Christian Leadetship Conference (SCLC),
the principal speaker for the occasion.
