The speakers scheduled for this event were LARRBY“LITTLE, head of the~ BPP in North Carolina, as well as BPP members NELSON’-MALLOY / and Mrs. LEE FAYE MACK. Mrs. RHUDINE-COVINGTON, President of the Welfare Rights Organization ih Winston-Salen, North Carolina, was also scheduled to speak at this rally. at dF wis Ky! . shay a Re s a CE T-1 stated that the BPP had announced that a 1,000 bags of free groceries as well as free shoes and sickle eell anemia tests would be given at this rally. Voter registration would also take place at the same time. a a 5 i a CE T-l stated the BPP will give away the free groceries in memory of JOSEPH IRWIN WADDELL, BPP member who died in North Carolina Central Prison, Raleigh, North Carolina, on June 13, 1972. The BPP is a black extremist organization started in Oakland, California, in December, 1966.
