SC 9-515 advised that apparently MANSON had written or somehow communicated with station KABC in Los Angeles as several times during December 24, 1976, that station had broadcasted a message allegedly from MANSON to the effect that if he did not receive a copy of the taped National Enquirer interview, he was going to have th three officials of the National Enquirer killed. [stated National Enquirer reporter in Los Angeles = with telephone number had information on this and had conferred with the Los Angeles Police Department. , FT ____] to KUNCL at National Enquirer, advised at approximately the same time she had taken a_call from DENNIS RICE who was trying to con- tact reporters, ~~~——~«<XY«djor Mr. KUNCL, and RICE advised he was the "family manager" of the MANSON family, and that he was calling on behalf of MANSON and desired to know the status of the taped interview and pictures, stating these had perviously been promised to MANSON. RICE also claimed the tape and photos would be used by who wants to write a book utilizing the photos and information from the tape. [_ asked RICE if an interview of [___]by National Enguirer could be arranged, and RICE stated he would have{ kali, which resulted in a call from [____] and a subsequent interview by National Enquirer during January, 1977. — advised RICE was pleasant in this conversation, and asked that he be advised concerning the tape and photos and furnished an address of P. 0. Box 125, telephone number (415) 841-6500. [__lena National Enquirer reporters, on January , 1977, advised that on November 12, 1976, they interviewed MANSON for one hour and twenty minutes at Vacaville, California, Medical Facility, and had taped the interview and taken pictures.
