The rally occurred at the new Federal Building in Minneapoljgs, Minnesota, and the principal speaker was Reverend VINCENT/HAWKINSON of Grace University Lutheran Church in MinneapoyYis. The demonstration was con- ducted in a peaceful manner. (U) a ee s of the University of Minnesota Pp Minneapolis, Minnesota. (U) A news release in the Minnesota ily on April 27, 1S72 states that Reverend ROBERT MC AFFEE/BROWN, Dean of the Stanford University School of Theology, ve a@ sermon on April 24, 1972, at the Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church in Minneapolis. He spoke to a congregation of about 300 persons on the subject of corporate responsibility. BROWN spoke principally concerning the i111 effects of war production by Honeywell, I:.corporated and was quoted as seying "We must accompany our plea to stockholders with a plea to ourselves” BROWN called for a reversal of Honeywell's tendency to "beat. plowshares into swords and pruning hooks into spears". This affair was sponsored by the Minnesota CALC. (vy _ On April 26, UMMM soos that the CALC would actively participate in the annual stockholders' meeting held at the Minneapolis Auditorium on April 26. 1972. A'group of about 15 to 20 persons remained outside of the suditorium et the entrance immediately proceding the opening of the meeting at 2:99 PM, and demonstrated at the entrance for & period of about 45 minutes. They protested against Honeywell ‘by carrying signs. reciting poetry, conducting skits and other peaceful-type activities. Much of the outside demonstration was led by ROBERT MC AFFEE BROWN, Only qualified persons were permitted in the auditorium to attend the stockholders' meeting.
