(U) The above iniormation concerning this march wes 5 carried by local South Carolina papers, specifically the vA Greenville Fiedmont. (U) a - On May 4, 1972 ey cere) Building, Greenville, South Caroline advised that on that date thirteen members of CALC demonstrated in front of the Federal Building. Tney displayed anti-war placards and handed out membership applications for the Greenville CALC. (U) An erticle in the May 11, 1972 issue of the Greenvilie Piedmont, &@ Greenville South Carolina daily newspaper, reported that six Greenville members of CALC were among demonstrators af at PCPJ rally in Washington D.C. (U) \0 / Honeywell Electronic On May 11, 97 Data Processing, &23 East washington Street, Greenville, South Cearclinza, advised that a group of six to ten CALC members had picketed his of:ice on April 26, 1972, May 3, 1972 and May 10, 1972. He said the group carried signs and distributed leaflets expressing opposition to the firms manufacturing of war material, f E. Tenressee . The May 11, 1972 issue of the Memphis "Commercial Appeal", a daily newspaper published in Memphis, Tennessee, contained an article entitled, "State Strange Props Familiar” by THOMAS BEVIER. According to this article, the International Telegraph and Telephone Corporation's (ITT) | annual meeting of stockholders held in Memphis, Tennessee on May 10, 1972 was picketed by ebout fifty anti-war demonstrators protesting ITT's contributions to the Vietnam War effort. this denonstration a Franciscan priest, Reverend DALE/OLINE, re- presenting CALC, presented two proposals to curtail ITT's manufacturing of items used in warfare, (U)
