On November 28, 1971, JOHN MILLER, 10604 East
Marginal Way South, Trailer #41, who has no telephone of
his own, but who can be reached through the trailer court
telephone RO2-1800, was at the Centralia Police Department,
telephone 736-3374, and furnished the following information
telephonically.
He is age 58, unemployed and was just "snooping
around" in his car around the Tenino-Ducota areacf
Washington which is about 10 miles north and a little east
of Centralia. At about 9:30 a.m. this date, while it was
still foggy, he drove past a “snag" (meaning a tree), about
75 feet high, located fairly close to State Highway 507
which is the old Olympia-Seattie Highway in Thurston County.
He observed hanging from near the top of this
snag something white which appeared to be cloth but which
he could not make out distinctly from his car on the road.
He was unable to estimate the size of this material because
he could not see it plainly through the mist.
He thought possibly this material might be some~
thing left over from the hijacker's déscent by parachute
from the hijacked plane a couple of days ago. He had no
other knowledge of the hijacking and was unable to give a
detailed description of the material he saw.

conversation and said that State Highway 507 is the "old,
oid" Olympia - Seattle xoad and thot twa have been built
