I had written to General Bolling earlier and am attaching a copy of my letter to him for your information. In addition, however, I would like to tell you officially, as I have told you informally before, that we are deeply appreciative of the assistance received from the A nd are most favorably impressed by the performance of and his splendid staff. It is a source of pride and assurance to see the Army perform in the magnificent manner in which they did on this extremely difficult task.
